About
A practitioner who teaches what she practises.
Smriti Budhia teaches meditation and the practical understanding behind it — simply, and clearly. She has led sessions for students, professionals and communities across India and Australia.
Smriti has practised Rajyoga meditation for more than sixteen years, through the Brahma Kumaris, and has spent over two decades with Hath Yoga. Her interest is not in theory but in application — how a settled mind changes an ordinary day: clearer thinking, steadier emotions, better relationships.
She is also a Chartered Accountant, and has studied Ayurveda within her family lineage and in her own practice for many years. That grounding shows in how she teaches — analytical, practical, unhurried, and free of jargon.
Her approach goes beyond a single session. She sees the work as the start of something a person can carry on by themselves, and she stays available as they do.
She offers all of this as a service. Sessions and talks are free of charge — a way of passing on what has helped her, rather than something to be bought.
On stage & on camera
Host of Light of Knowledge International.
Smriti hosts the international talk show Light of Knowledge International, speaking with participants around the world about personal growth, resilience and lived experience. She also anchors Ek Mulaqat at Godlywood Studio, Mount Abu.
Clips and episodes are gathered on the Media page.
Her work
Teaching in the places people actually are.
Over the years the settings have been unusually varied — power plants and engineering colleges, medical and nursing schools, an old-age home, correctional facilities, public libraries, and neighbourhood groups. During the COVID-19 period she supported community wellness with natural-health guidance and produce from her organic farm.
In 2025 she led a retreat in Australia for 110 participants, following seven months of online Rajyoga training delivered from India. A separate, year-long engagement with a group of Sudanese women in New South Wales is written up here.
