Influenced by Love
3 January 2026
Whatever my approach is, whenever I go anywhere for service, I think about one thing: what is the best way, the most interesting way, to present this knowledge to whoever is in front of me.
I go back to my own starting days — how open I was, how interested, how much it moved me. It wasn't on an intellectual level. I was influenced by love. That's what kept me going. I used to be fancy, worldly — and I changed through love. Other things started to matter to me more.
So anyone can change through love. But I can't expect them to arrive at my stage on day one. As a teacher, I have to meet people where they are, and work from there.
I love listening, too. Even on YouTube, I used to watch good speakers — the mesmerising ones — and notice how they use their voice, how they tell small stories to hold attention, how they interact with the people listening. I've always enjoyed working with people this way, especially children: learning how to give, and learning how to listen.
