Dussehra: The Spiritual Significance
20 October 2026
India is a land full of festivals and celebrations but over a period of time we have moved away from the true essence of festivals.
On this day of vijaydashmi commonly known as Dussehra, where after the nine days of worshipping of Durga or Shakti’s we gather together to burn the Ravan.
If we look at the character Ravan irrespective of the fact that he was a demon but he was extraordinary scholarly talents, deep devotion, and severe flaws. But because of his EGO and arrogance he died.
So if we actually look at ourselves today, all of us have that Ravana within so burning Ravan is symbolic for us to burn the Ravan within. That is the vices that we have inside and enjoy the real celebration.
Happy Dussehra
